Risk Disclosure

Last updated: September 2026

This page explains the risks of using AURAX and trading gold (XAUUSD) or other leveraged instruments on your own MT5 account. Read it fully before connecting a live account. Nothing here is financial, legal or tax advice.

1. Leveraged trading can lose money, including all of it

Trading gold, forex or CFDs on margin is highly speculative and carries a high level of risk. Losses can happen quickly and can exceed what feels intuitive given the size of a single position, because a grid strategy can hold several correlated positions at once. It is possible to lose some or all of the capital in an account, and — depending on your broker's leverage and margin terms — potentially more than your initial deposit. Only trade with money you can afford to lose.

2. Gold (XAUUSD) is volatile

Gold can move sharply around macroeconomic data, central bank decisions, and risk-off events. Volatility can widen spreads, increase slippage, and accelerate drawdown faster than in calmer conditions.

3. Automation does not remove market risk

AURAX automates the mechanics of entries, averaging and exits according to a defined strategy — it does not predict the market and cannot guarantee a favourable outcome. A systematic strategy can still lose over any given period, including extended periods.

4. Drawdown limits are controls you configure, not guarantees

Maximum and daily drawdown settings are enforced by the Expert Advisor running in your own MT5 terminal, based on parameters you (or a template you apply) set. They are designed to reduce further losses once triggered, not to prevent losses from occurring, and they cannot act if the terminal, EA or your connection is not running at the moment a limit is reached. There is no independent, server-side kill switch that can close positions if your MT5 terminal is offline — a stop is only realized once the EA is running again and checks in.

5. Connectivity and platform risk

AURAX depends on your MT5 terminal running continuously, a stable connection between that terminal and your broker, and a working connection between the EA and AURAX's servers. If any of these is interrupted, the EA stops acting: it will not open new trades or apply new settings, and remote commands sent from the portal (pause, resume, close-all) will not reach it until connectivity is restored. Positions already open remain open at your broker and continue to be subject to normal market risk while the bot is unable to act on them.

6. Broker execution, slippage, spread, swap and commission

Orders are executed by your broker, not by AURAX. Actual fills can differ from the price shown when a signal was generated due to slippage, especially in fast markets or around news. Spread, swap (overnight financing) and any commission your broker charges reduce net results and are set by your broker's terms, not by AURAX. Broker-side events outside AURAX's control — a stop-out, margin call, requote policy, or a change to available leverage — can affect your account independently of the EA's own settings.

7. Backtests, simulations and demo trading have limitations

Backtest and Strategy Tester results, and demo-account results (including during a free trial), are simulated. They can differ materially from live trading due to execution assumptions, historical data gaps, the absence of real slippage/liquidity effects, and changing market conditions. A configuration that performed well in a backtest or on a demo account is not guaranteed to perform the same way, or at all, on a live account. Illustrative figures shown in marketing materials (for example, the portal preview on our homepage) are mockups, not real trading results.

8. No guaranteed returns

No statement on this site should be read as a promise of profit, a specific rate of return, or protection from loss. Past performance — live, historical or simulated — does not guarantee future results. Where we publish live performance data (see /performance), it describes what a specific account has already done, not a forecast of what any other account will do.

9. Not individualized financial advice

AURAX provides trading-automation software and monitoring tools only. Nothing on this site, in the portal, or in communications from AURAX constitutes investment, financial, tax or legal advice, or a recommendation that gold or any instrument is suitable for you. Consider your own financial situation and risk tolerance, and consult an independent, licensed advisor if you are unsure whether automated leveraged trading is appropriate for you.

10. Your responsibility

You are solely responsible for your broker relationship, your account funding, the settings you apply to the EA, and every trading decision and outcome on your account. See also our Terms of Service.
